- BIBL/NET README.NOW
- =====================================================================
-
- This file contains information you should read before installing or
- running BIBL/NET.
-
- If upgrading from a version of BIBL/NET earlier than 3.x, you must
- first convert your existing database to the structure used since
- release 2.0. Use BNETUP to accomplish the task. If you are using
- the SHAREWARE version, extract your database to a BIX file (via
- export) then import it into an empty database created with release
- 3.0 or later.
-
-
- 1. This unregistered version of BIBL/NET is functionally identical
- to the registered version with these exceptions:
-
- The Registered version will pick up the user name from
- NetWare (the login name). If that name appears in the
- BIBL/NET security database, then the user need only enter
- a password. If the name isn't found, there's no intervening
- screen (as in SHAREWARE version which asks you to press RETURN
- for Read-Only access), user moves directly to BIBL/NET.
-
- No nag reminders about registration.
-
- Registered version is compiled for 286/386/486 processors.
- Will not run on an 8088 machine. If you must have the
- registered version running on an 8088 workstation, we can
- supply you with a 8088 version of the software.
-
- 2. Read BIBLNET.DOC, particularly the brief sections on installation
- and security. Understanding these two sections is critical
- for success with the program.
